Hi mates.
I'm looking to add to the Boogie family a DC amp.
I'm looking for the DC-5.
After a brief search on the google i found some posts (http://homerecording.com/bbs/equipment-forums/guitars-basses/mesa-boogie-dual-caliber-dc-10-a-210418/) which mentions that Boogie stopped the production of the line due to overheated LDRs (?)
Anyway, is that right?
Can you help mates?
Thanks
V

I've owned a Studio Caliber (early DC-2), a DC-3 and a DC-5 at one time or another.

The DC-3 always used to get really hot, but I never had any reliability issues with it.

Can't say I ever noticed any overheating with the other models in the range.

Never had any heat related issues with my DC-5... and I play it VERY loud.

thanks guys.
i'm going to add it to my Boogie family

No problems here either. I own/owned and gigged with the DC-3, DC-5, DC-10 for years. Only problems I've ever had were tubes or the effects loop send jack when not used can a little corrosion causing noise. Just clean or replace it and everything was good again. Though the DC-3 runs on the hot side none have ever had heat related issues for me.

You are so helpful guys....thanks!
Can someone tell me - but for sure if it's possible - how much is the weight of the DC-5?
i found different weights like 60 lbs, 50lbs and even 40lbs...the last one is hard to believe for a Boogie amp though..

Same here, I've had my DC-5 for 13yrs without a single issue. As for the weight 50lbs would be about right. I converted my combo to a head a few yrs ago but I do remember the combo was pretty heavy for a 1x12.

Thanks man, but on that one

or that one

i read something about 30kgrs (~66lbs) which is a huge difference.
Actually i don't consider a 50lbs amp as a heavy one...i can handle it...
If it's around 50lbs it's excellent to me
