DC-5 graphic EQ settings for rhythm guitar

Hey folks, I'm a new member here but a long time DC-5B head owner. It was the first tube amp I bought, from a pawn shop, back in the late 90's before the pawn shops regularly checked ebay to see what they had. I found this forum because I've been considering modding it to make the overdrive channel brighter, as the other guitarist in my band is using a 2204 which I'm having trouble cutting through. I use only the overdrive channel in this band because we're doing rock/punk and usually set it up to use the graphic as a solo boost while keeping the overdrive channel's level low.

Last night, without the band, I tried the opposite, setting the EQ for a bit of level reduction for a rhythm guitar level cut, and using the un-EQ'd overdrive channel for the lead tone. That seemed to work well because of the added raw mids when going to the lead tone, and opened up a new area to explore:

How do you like to set the graphic EQ for rhythm guitar?

I know this is a late reply but I normally do the classic V on the GEQ. I play a lot of metal, rock, blues, and even some classical stuff. But mainly I stick to a V with some MIDs still alive in there. I don't scoop them all out

I mainly play rhythm but I've found a "smile" shaped eq suits me. Just my 2cents.

Sound also suits me for my lead tone also.

I ended up with a setting like this, something of a scoop/dip at the 250 Hz level rather than the 700 Hz level, as I want to cut through the 2204, and the cabinet I'm using has a big hump in the 100-200 Hz region.

Then changed the effects loop to serial rather than parallel and used a volume pot in a box for rhythm/lead switching. Worked well in practice. Died in the middle of the first song at the show due to burned screen resistor and fuse, and probably caps as well.
