New member here (been browsing for a while - thought I'd finally sign on, now that I actually have something to ask about).

I have a DC 3, probably 10 years old or so. This is my third Boogie - I've owned a Studio .22 and a 50 Caliber head with a road ready vertical slant 2X12 cab which was way too loud and heavy, but sounded incredible. Anyway, I'm very happy with the DC 3. - everything's working fine with the exception of the 80K (bass) slider on the graphic eq.

What's happening is that all the other sliders work as they should, but the 80K slider is working only intermittently. Seems like I have to wiggle the knob and slightly push in on it to get the thing active, and even then it will sometimes drop out mid song. Anyone else ever had a similar problem and/or able to suggest a simple fix?

Thanks for any and all help.

Sounds like it is time for a new fader. It is an easy fix. De-solder the old fader and install the new one and be thankful than it is not a MK series where you have to remove the faceplate and capacitor board. Check for a cold solder joiny as well. It is a 50K potentiometer that I suggest getting directly from Mesa. A cleaning may not hurt either. It my be dirt causing the contacts to short.

Any tips on how I might go about cleaning it? I really hope that's all it is - I have a gig tomorrow night, and I really don't feel liek pulling the whole thing apart.
