Does any one know if you can order a different grill from mesa and if it easy to replace on the mkV? I have a regular stock mkv but i want a tan grill.

Thanks

It wouldn't be to difficult to remove the 4 screws and take off the existing grill and then replace the grill cloth with whatever color you want. all you need is some pliers to remove the existing staples and then a staple gun to put on the new cloth.
May want to consider this route...I'm sure Mesa will charge about $200 bucks for a new grill assembly. I just ordered a 1x12 widebody cab with black jute and plan on doing this so it matches my Mark V head which is gold jute.

I want the wicker grill. But I would have to get one for my extra cab too... I imagine that would be pretty expensive.

So you cant just order a grill from mesa. You have to send the amp in to make the change? Am i hearing this right?

No, you CAN order just a grille from Mesa. It's too expensive though, IMO. I called in to check the prices, and Kris told me a new grille assembly would be $185. This is the easiest route, since if you want to replace the cloth, you need to remove like a gazillion staples from the perimeter (at least on the recto cabs, IDK about others).

If the face of the Mark is like any other top mounted Mesa amp with that standard style grill, you literally just unscrew the wood (grill) from the chassis with the four screws. I would not remove the grill cloth from the wood. It sometimes is held down by a ridiculous amount of staples. Just go to your local hardware store and buy a piece of project wood. I got some for like 5 bucks. Buy some strong spray adhesive and a staple gun. Cut your piece of wood to match the size of the stock mesa one and glue your grill cloth on with the spray adhesive. You can then staple the back side of the new grill cloth color on to your chunk of wood. Let it all dry and screw the new grill back on to your Mark. It helps if you pre-drill the screw holes. You can get grill cloth here:

or google "grill cloth" and a few companies come up. I have found that Mesa old school "wicker cane" stuff before.

Behold my non-stock Trem O Verb with "Orange Amp" style grill...

Sweet Rig. That's the vibe i want only a mkv and a recto 2x12 cab (with tan grill)

I paid the price from Mesa and it is overpriced, but it looks right with black piping as well. I had this done over a year and a half ago, the sting of the price has worn off.

I did mine myself. As vitor gracie posted it is super easy to do. I bought a yard of tolex and the piping from Ebay. The staples, adhesive and wood I already had so it cost me about $15 I think.
