I've been thinking about what my future rig might be, and I've come to the conclusion that I definitely want to keep a Mark IV in there, but I want it to be in stereo, and my version A doesn't have the stereo effects loop that I could use very easily with a Satellite amp. So, I figured I'd ask here on a whim.

I have a Mark IVa short combo (which is damn close to mint), and it sounds awesome. I'm just wondering if anyone would want to trade me straight-up for their IVb of any variety. My amp was recently checked out, and there's nothing wrong with it - pots were cleaned, circuits were checked, etc.

PM me if you're interested; I can send pictures.

I believe: The only thing the IVb does with the stereo loop is to take one of the loop returns and send it via buffered output to the satellite send. So, unless you are running the signal a long distance to your satellite, I don't think it will really matter. If you are going to put your satellite amp near your fx, you can just run the stereo output of your fx to each of the loop returns on your Mark IV and satellite.

The bigger difference on the Mark IVB, IMO, is the switchable reverb, but a IVa can be rigged to do this too.

I thought the brighter sound was the biggest difference. This is why I am interested in the A's (have a b)
