Is it safe to use CRC QD Electronics Cleaner (Hexane, Petroleum Distillate...) on/around the circuit board of my amp?
Last I changed the tubes, I used the "tuner cleaner" from Radio Shack, which contains some type of lubricant. It's left behind a kinda nasty residue, while seemingly inconsequential, is just nasty!

Besides, I'm sure that the connections could benefit from the Electronic Cleaner, though I don't know how careful/sparingly I should use the stuff.

Thanks

no info on that type of cleaner but I would like to share a dumb thing I did. I sprayed Deoxid into on my pc board to clean some carbon left over from a blown screen resister which is fine..the problem I had was I cleaned my pots with the same cleaner...the pots on the mesa's are carbon based...the mineral oil in the cleaner has ruined my pots...ups is delivering new pot today..to be install asap....

WOW!

You know, I really want to thank you for possibly having saved my pots!
There really is a lot of ambiguous info out there, such as the following:

Clean the tone and volume controls & potentiometers, or "pots", for short by spraying contract cleaner through the openings in their covers. Spray in a little cleaner, turn the shaft briskly back and forth a few times, then flush with another shot of cleaner. If you're using Gunk, flush with WD-40 right after you spray the carburetor cleaner; leaving Gunk on too long can freeze the control shaft.
lol @ contract cleaner!

At the end of the day (or beginning as it may be), I moistened the prongs on my tubes with CRC QD then inserted them...wiggled em round a bit and called it good.

It all appeared surprisingly clean (compared to pics I've seen!), so I just dusted it with a lil brush and vacuum cleaner...then wiped er down with alcohol wipes I acquired in my past life in the pharma industry!

Getting ready to plug it in this afternoon.
