i just picked up a "recto" 4x12 from a guy. the jack is recto (mono8/stereo4/paralellouts), V30s like a recto, but i just checked the dimensions when i got home and it's 29"Hx14.5"Dx29.5"W. this doesn't match the recto dimensions on the website, and it doesn't even match the stiletto dimensions. was the old "traditional" recto, or traditional 4x12 these dimensions? it's not a chinese knock off or anything, legitimate mesa built, but just weird dimensions, and NOT the "recto" over sized cab i was hoping for. thinking i should have brought my tape measure with me before driving 2 hours for this thing.

I don't remember the dimensions of the older cabs off hand, but mine is one of those. I don't have it here, it's at our spot because we have a show tomorrow, but I can measure it if you like.

Also, I like the traditional sized cabs MUCH better than the oversized cabs. I think you'll like that cab just fine...:)

Published "dimensions" on websites, and even in manuals, are often wrong, edited, changed, etc.

i just went through a similar situation. daddys junky had a 4x12 recto cab in CT with no pics that i had sent up to the ME store. knowing that daddy`s employees typically don`t what they are talking about  , i brought a tape measure. i didn`t need it though because it was a tiny 4x12 halfback cab that i believe was marketed for the F series heads  . btw i wouldn`t mind owning a stiletto cab, but i wanted the oversized cab for a reason. it seems alot of people selling these used have no clue what cab they are selling, and just call them rectifier cabs. i know the recto cabs are marked 4FB on thre jack plate, but i`m not sure what the traditional/stiletto cabs are marked with.

Well, they all used to be Recto Cabs. It was only after the release of the Stiletto that they relabeled the traditional sized cabs "Stiletto Cabs." Mine is a 90's traditional back when they we're called Recto Cabs.

Jack the funny thing is, I have had both the oversized angled straight front and the straight front traditional at the same time, and they sounded very close to each other. When you think about it they both pretty much have close to the same interntal volume which makes them sound closer. Now my traditional slant, that one sounds slightly different then my oversized.
