Just a couple of Mark III Blue stripe clips I recorded for fun to test the iPhone camera :). Some lead channel, some rhytm boosted by sd-1.

Playing is amazing. Not.

That sounds just like my mark III, tell me about Your amp, settings etc.

Its a 60W Blue stripe, Geq and reverb. Les Paul clip is wet/dry -3 cabs with TC flashback delay and rhtym channel boosted with Boss SD-1. Other two are lead channel and Ibanez SF direct to amp and just one 4x12. Cranked in wet dry sounds much better.

Settings

Vol 8
treble 8 pulled
bass 0,5
mid 4
Master 1,5
Drive 7
Lead master 3
presence 3

Just got new tubes, Tungsol 6l6, Tad, Eh and Sovtek LPS cocktail in preamp. Sound much better with new tubes, clearer.

Hey mate

I also have a Blue stripe combo (export) though mine has EL34 tubes, it also sounds massive in a 4x12 V30 cab, have fun.

Regards

That sounds killer! Nice playing too 8) I think about picking up a Mark III sometime down the road. My IVB keeps me very happy but it would be nice to add a slightly more raw and aggressive sounding III to it for total destruction!

On a side note-what model III would best compliment a IV? What is the most aggressive III?

Thank you,
Mine is blue stripe, and it is pretty agressive. I believe red stripe is also. It also depends on tubes..red color mesa tubes make it even more agressive. I put Tungsol 6L6GC in mine, and they sound very nice, clear and detailed.

Redstripe is really agressive. And for my taste it's pretty enough. But note! As MESA told me some months ago, the colour of tubes makes NO DIFFERENCE ! in sound. I had various colours through the decades and it made no difference.
