Can the factory price for a head enclosure really be this expensive? I called the local dealer and he said something about $350+ !! 1//3rd the cost of the complete combo ?? How is this possible ??

I'd love to convert my combo to a head but that kind of pricing is just insulting. Does anyone know of any options ? Even selling my combo and buying a new head works out to approx the same money. Certainly there's got to be a better way ??

thanks in advance,

Jed

call boogie direct it's $250 to $275.

NO ITS NOT (Sorry for yelling), the cost of a head enclosure is $400 (for the Lonestars and 5:50). I know I spoke to Mesa last week. They said the prices nearly doubled from 07/07 to 08/07

wow are you sure? i called for a head shell for my 5:50 and boogie and hollywood were around $250 to $275 plus shipping. This was about two months ago. You can check out this place, they may have it at $375 but with fancy wood http://www.vintageboogie.com/Price1.htm

2 mos ago vs. A week ago.....is my point, they raised the prices as of 08/2007. I spoke with them directly -- its ridiculous.

Yep. Inquired about my mark IV combo... to convert to head is $350 installed (w/reverb) from Mesa.
