Hey guys,
It's been awhile since I posted anything, but I have run into a bit of a dilemma and could use some input.
I've had my Mark V combo for 5 years now, it was my first tube amp, and I finally feel like I know her quirks pretty well now. It seems like it goes through Preamp tubes after about 1-1.5 years. First I was wondering if that was fairly typical for Preamp tubes?
And secondly, I am fairly certain that the close proximity of the speaker is really what causes the Preamp tubes to go bad quicker, so is there a relatively cheap way to either pull the speaker out or the amp out and create a little bit of distance between the two aside from buying a standalone speaker cab?
