For the hum, I would suggest a Monster power conditioner. They are more expensive than a Furman but when you connect a "noise sniffer" to the Furman, there is still some noise there. When you connect it to the Monster, the "noise sniffer" reads 0. I got a Monster Power Pro 1200 for just under $200. Plus Monster guarantees your equipment will not be hurt by power if run throught the power conditioner up to $1 million.
