I know the 2:95 runs its Class A section in triode.

I recently tried my studio pre in to the effects return of a Mark IV (hated the Mark IV itself) but loved the power section, (especially on pentode) I was wondering if any of the rack power amps ran the Class A section in pentode.

The 3:95 has pentode setting.
But do you know if you can use el34's in the class A sockets of a 3:95?

Cheers,
M.

the 395 is not pentode.

It's triode just like the 295. I just got a 395 and I had my tech specifically check that.

Yes, you're right.
I'm sorry about the mistake.
The 395 is triode, like the rest.
It just doesn't say so in the manual...
(just doesn't mention it.)

I used to have a Mark IV, with the triode / pentode switching option.
The 395 doesn't have anything like that,
so I assumed (wrong) that it was pentode.

Sorry for the mistake!
