Hello Mesa-mates.
We have uploaded a new clip at www.myspace.com/narniaofficial
It's the song "Sail around the world" and it contains some massive Mesa-tracks, I think ;)

Hope You'll like it!

Thanks guys!!!
The MKIV setting was.

I tracked 2 channels of MKIV and 2 channels of Dual Rectifier. They were then mixed on equal levels. Both went through a Traditional/Stiletto cab
The solo was a Road King, it's really the amp I've favoured for leads over the past 4 or 5 years.

Requested MKIV settings:
Lead Gain: 9 (Pulled I think:)
Treble: 8,5
Bass: 3
Mid: 5,5
Drive: 8,2
Presence: 2, pushed

EDIT: The Grapic was set: 80 and 6600 right on the higest line, 240 and 2200 right ABOVE the middle line and the 750 between the lower and middle-line, or actually a tiny bit lower than that.

Not sure about the levels, I think I ran the ch master fairly low, like 2, and the output on 6 or 7 or so...

THANKS FOR LISTENING!!!
Take care

Excellent! Looking forward to the new album :D
Was the solo done on CH4 Vintage?

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks mate!
Yes, it's ch 4 vintage indeed!
Don't remember if I ran all 6 tubes, or only 4x6L6...but I THINK it was all of 'em

Take care!

Great stuff!

I had actually visited your site a few months ago. I came across it while going through the Mesa website endorsed artists page.

I have done some mixing of Mark IV and Roadking tracks as well and the sound does not disapoint.

For some reason, as good as it sounds on recordings, when I have played to two together in stereo, doesn't sound as good to me. Not sure how that makes any since.

Since you were kind enough to give your Mark IV setting, could you give up your RK channel 4 settings? I am really curious because I favor the Mark IV for leads by a wide margin. Maybe I am missing a good setting on the RK.

Sure!
Note that the RK was only used for solos this time, but here's the approximate lead settings I used - I didn't write it down so there's SOME guessing involved:

Vintage, Bold, Diode/Tube? Don't remember...
Gain: 2 o'clock
Treble: 1-1.30
Mid: 11-12
Bass: Probably around 9 or 9.30
Presence: Barely on - 8 o'clock
Volume: Don't remember, but I always play louder when I do solos.
I THINK I had the loop engaged...gives some extra "compression", so it's nice for leads:)

I also kicked the front of the RK with a Maxon OD808 with Gain at 0

Take care
CJ

CJG. I got to listen to the new album. Very impressive tones!!! I assume it was done exclusively with the amps mentioned above, but we all know when we assume.... Anyways, I was wondering about the solos. Were they all done with the RKII? Just waiting for copy to come in the mail :D

Hello and sorry for the late reply!
Thanks for the nice feedback guys!!

Yes, the solos are all RKII. Occasionally Ive done solos on MKIV as well, but
on this record its all RK!

@Nitrobattery: Yes, got my first caparison back in 99. Theyre great!;)
