Hi all,

I just bought a used 3 Channel Dual and Recto cab. I used this rig about 10 years ago but cannot remember how I had it set up. I am hoping maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I am sure it's an EQ issue...as with everything else Mesa. :)

I am looking for a setting that gives a nice balance of preamp and power tube distortion. I normally play with the channel master around 11:00, which really opens up the tone.

If you think of Van Halen-type distortion levels you will be close. But I am not trying to mimic his tone, just the level of distortion. I had it with this exact rig before so I know it's in there. Somewhere. :?

I think I used Vintage mode on Channel 2. I know I never used the modern modes. Too much gain. I have to be able to hear it when I pick out individual notes in a chord or it's too much saturation. That's not my style.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, and I am using humbuckers on a variety of guitars.

Thanks!
