so today at band we finished playin couple of our songs, and gettin ready to record and all of the sudden my gain in channel 2 and 3 starts to do what i call the wave. Sound goes up, goes down, up and down so on. Now my channel 1 is still there and prounounced so im figuring its just my pre amp tubes. But i did accedently switch my 90 watt setting to 45 while the amp was on and such, would this have caused my tube/s to blow? Either way im getting new tubes its just i dono if this was just a ****** timeing thing or if i actully blew my tubes from switching the power raiting. Thanks in advance guys.

I have switched the power level with no bad things happening. It is supposed to be able to do that, go from 90w clean, 45w MK1, to 5 Extreme.

Something definintely took a dump. No spare tubes?

hey, I had the same problem, or kind of, but it was because I used de mkv straight to the wall, nothing bad happened later, but during the jam it didnt work well in 90 watts

no my other guitarist took my spares for his mesa studio pre amp lol. Im gettin a new set friday hopefully its just the pre amp tubes. Im gonna try her again tomorrow once i get up see if its still doing it. Either way i wanted new tubes so this gives me a reason hahah. And what i mean is i was on extreme 90 watts then i went to my amp to give me a bit less treb and i kidnda tripped and switched it down to 45 watts extreme.

shouldnt matter about changing the power rating mate, it should do that without any issues!
