A guy at my local store said that Mesa changed their policy this week to allow advertising of their products online. I'm not sure if it applies to print as well, but he said that their store was getting ready to put their Mesa stuff up on the web.

There's nothing there yet, but here's the link.

Anyone else hear about this?

On The Gear Page, someone reported that they'd heard the same thing from Magdon Music.

Honestly its about **** time... as much as people want to get nostalgic about the mom and pop shops, the world has moved on for quite a while now. It actually makes more sense for them to do this too as most (not all) shops I've been to that carry Mesa don't really earn their mark up on the gear. Very few shops actually know anything about them as they either see them as not vintage enough or too complicated. Hopefully someday they'll go factory direct (i highly doubt it) so users like us can actually get a better deal.

Yeah, but I hope this doesn't thin the dealer network too badly.

so if you're in Cali like me, where can I order a Mark V online and thus hopefully avoid the big tax hit???!!!

As far as I know, the following dealers have no presence in California, and so they shouldn't charge sales tax for an order shipping to California:

Matt's Music (Massachusetts)

Alpha Music (Virginia)

Magdon Music (Pennsylvania) (inventory not yet on web-site, maybe give them a call)

In the early 80's they were factory direct. I purchased a MKIIB all wood/wicker/road case & a cream MKII C+ straight from the factory :D

They might want to read what they've got in the description field before they post. It advertises V30 speakers, then 2x12 C90s - all under the the name Classic Greenback.

I remember the days when you could say you had Mesa on your site but couldn't even give your inventory.

Our rep told us that "if a Boogie just happened to be in a picture of your store, its OK," which we took full advantage of.
