They have a different Mid Range voicing as well. Other than that they are basically the same.

To me channel 2 has a tighter sound,better mids i think.

Yeah I swore by Channel 2 before I changed out the presence pot in Channel 3. I wrote a thread about how to do it if you are curious. I don't even look at channel 2 anymore.
