Can a Mark IIb be upgraded to Mark IIc+ specs?

My apologies if this has been covered. I've got a 60 watt head with no eq, and it has some of the same gremlins other IIb owners speak of. It likes low-med gain od pedals, high gain not so much, and I need high gain once a week. The effects loop is a nightmare too, some guys recommended I get it cleaned but a tech told me early Mesa loops are a nightmare. Any help would be greatly appreciated-thanks in advance.

Not any more. The preamp board needed is no longer in production. Only IICs can be modded to a C+.

There is an FX Loop Mod that is done at the Mesa shop ($300) that will square away any loop problems you will ever have in the IIB. I had it done to mine and I LOVE the results. It will upgrade the sound of the entire amp.

my 2b fx loop works fine, and sounds great.

why would i want to do this mod?

also, what if you don't use the loop (say, during recording, using a dry amp)?

if nothing's in the loop, why would it change the sound at all?

Oh, I don't put stuff in the loop anymore but when I did it would make this awful screeching/buzzing noise. Nothing in loop=no problem. Thanks for the replies fellas-think I'm gonna get an Electra dyne. That thing blew me away when I heard it demoed-lots of amp for the money.

Man i,ve got a short head transitional mark 2b(sixty watts,fully loaded)that has the black top hat style control knobs of the mark 2c/3 my amp smokes , sounds great clean or mean and loves any pedal i throw in front of it(including high gain ones!)the sound guy,s at gigs (and often other guitarists!) drool over this amp....are you guys dialing this amp in right!why all the bad press?
