hello.
a while back i purchased a 4x12 recto cab from a co-worker, and i'm looking for more information on it. it's model # is 4FBB-R-STR. it's basically a straight cab with the angled baffle.

anyone know anything about this model? i haven't seen many like this at all so i'm pretty curious about it.

Dont think they make that cab anymore . Its a standard recto cab so its one of the oversized ones as i remember .

Very well constructed, heavy as hell, can be bassy/boomy with the wrong settings

yup, that's it. thing weighs a ton, good thing it's on casters. actually i haven't had too much trouble with too much bass, and that's surprising since my main amp (carvin legacy) is known for getting muddy with cabs like this.

what years did they make these? IOW are these english or chinese vin 30's?

and this is seriously the oversized one? it's 14" deep...

Same depth as the traditional-sized one, about 3 inches taller...enough to make quite a difference in the low-end response.

English V30s, special design for Mesa (slightly different voicing, 70W power hadling each)

Made from mid-90s until about a year ago. They still make the oversize, but the new ones have a straight baffle.
