Does anyone know why my "used" MXR Wylde Overdrive pedal hums when it is clicked on? When I mute the strings, I still hear a hum. I know slight hums are normal, but this seems to be too loud. Maybe the input or output jack is messed up? Thanks for your help.

It's just a noisy pedal. I have one and the white noise is obvious. Use it with my Boss EQ, forget about it.

Maybe it has something to do with those letters "M" "X" and "R"......

Strange, since every other pedal they make is dead quiet, right?

Unfortunately there aint many people out there who can mod them, and they seem to be trying to make their stuff "mod resistant". And the ones who do mod them and get rid of the noise, they will charge you your first born to do it.

I have had 2 zwo's and still keeping the second one.The first one I had been broken as you couldnt hear any sound after turning it on so had to go to original e bay keeper but i regret that i bought it for the second time... simply it sounded better at my friends house with his laney than with my mark IV its just sounds weak and its noisy comparing to my ds-1.
