Are there any obvious things I should look for? Any tips in checking out a used Mark IV would be appreciated. I would expect to replace tubes and such, but other than that...
 
I'd say just check the obvious, make sure that the amp works in all its features, that it makes no strange noises or excessive hum, that there's no pops while switching channels, stuff like that.

These puppies are pretty sturdy, it's no easy task to get them out of work.
 
Make sure you turn it on and off in both Class A and simulclass.

When I got my mark IV, I had an issue where it would make an incredibly startling pop crackly sound when coming out of standby on simulclass.

It was prefectly quite on class A.
