Hello!

A friend of mine is selling his Bogner cabinet (with V30 speakers). What do you guys think of this cab? Is it a good match with a Dual Rectifier? I currently play on an Orange 2x12 but I'm not really convinced with the sound.

Cheers,

Tom.

It's a good sounding cab. How much is he selling it for and what kind of condition is it in? If it's a good deal than go for it.

Our lead guitar player plays this cab through this exact cab through his Marshall and Soldano heads. I bought an Avatar cab loaded with V30's and G12H30's (the hellatone versions) and we both agree that my cab sounds better through both our amplifiers. The difference between the two is that G12H30's produce a better low end. If you had to buy new, I'd say save the money and go with the Avatar. You can get whatever speaker config you want (and they have free shipping right now).

My cab is 120W where the Bogner is 240W. If you're playing a triple recto through it, you may want the extra handling power.

It really depends on the sound you want. If you want the true RECTO tone, you'll never get it perfect with anything other than a Mesa 4x12. Even people I know that don't like mesa amps, love the Mesa cabs.

Well the cab is in very good condition, comes with casters for 600 euros (800 dollars). Here in Belgium it's a VERY good deal actually! I am looking for a warm, fat, tight sound. The Orange cab can handle a lot of lows but sounds very dry to my hears. I mostly play heavy stuffs (think The Used, Finch, Underoath...) but not "overly downtuned super low agressive sound".

I would say that you stand a chance at tonal bliss with that cab. The 4x12 will have more punch than the 2x12 you have. If he's your friend, I would imagine that you can try it out and if you like it, fork over the Euro's to keep it. That's a good deal. My friend paid the exact same amount several years ago for a used cab.

Bring your amp over there and try it out! Try them side by side if you can...
