Hey guys,

Been a Gibson guy my whole life. Lovin' my Les Paul through the Roadster. Recently though I picked up a Fender American made strat with the David Gilmour EMG set installed. So now I am in search of a good blue tone through my Boogie. I was hoping there are a few of you here using strats with their Boogies. If so, I could use some input on dialing in a Gary Moore type blues tone. Yes, I know he used Marshalls but I was hoping maybe I could get close. Thanks in advance for your time and input.

I thought GM was a Les Paul guy.

Either way, I find that bluesy tone is way more about technique than equipment. Turn down the gain and muscle the sustain out with your hands.

+1. I can't recall seeing him with anything but an LP.

True. And I wouldn't consider Moore to have a traditional "blues" tone, either; more of a rock tone. Still, I agree and suggest to the OP that he turn the gain down and the master UP, and go for more power section drive. More clarity, less saturation.

Gary Moore played a lot of different guitars through his career. He started using the LPs more often towards the end of his career though...
