Hey guys

I was just wondering how do you know if you have blown the fuse in the amp, Because last time I checked, the fuse in my amp the looked fine to me.

But when I checked the fuse in the transformer the device that supples the amp with it's voltage, it appeared that the inside of the fuse was black and looked burned out.

Use an Ohm meter. Sometimes the fuse goes at the end, inside the cap and it's hard to tell.

If you have 2 fuses in series (like one in the amp and one in a power supply that the amp is plugged into) it's a good idea to change both fuses, since fuses don't go all at once, therefore, both are likely degraded. It may have been a race for which one burned all the way through first.

Don't just change the fuse and fire it all up - try to figure out what happened. If your transformer is driving lots of things, it may have overloaded. If just the amp, then maybe the transformer is not rated for what the amp draws, or maybe something bad happened in the amp.
