So I've had my mark V a few months now and I'm gradually learning my way around it.
I've managed to coax some pretty good blues rock sounds out of it. I've mostly been playing with tweed as my rhythmic crunch and mark IIC+ as my lead (2:30 in below video).

But I play a lot of different types of music, and some of them require a less abrasive sound. I'd like to stick out a little less.
I'm looking for that big, stringy, ringing and clear sound. The basic pop punk sound. Seems to be equally well suited to lead lines, palm muting, and big rhythmic choruses.

this is what i'm talking about, the lead guy there plays a mark V and thats pretty much exactly what i'd like to achieve.
I would love some suggestions. I've got a few different guitars I could achieve this with I think. I've got that white falcon, but it lends itself more to the tweedy sounds. I've got a les paul with classic 57's in it, an adkins telecaster with p90s, and a strat with a JB/jazz set up. Everything I try seems to either be too bright, fizzy, or muffled.
