Best way to hook up a DC-3 to a Peavey Triple XXX 4x12 Cab

A friend of mine has this setup and asked me this question...

Since I don't know much about impendence I'm passing this on to you guys...

DC-3 has 1 x 8ohms and 2 x 4ohms

Cab has 2 x 8ohms (STEREO) and 1 x 16 ohms (MONO)

Whats the best way to hook'em up getting the best out of the amp in a safe way?

set the cab on stereo.

take two speakercables.

plug both speakercables into the 4 ohm outputs from the amp and in the 8 ohm stereo inputs from the cab.



it is paralel connected then, wich makes: 1/8 x 1/8 = 2/8 = 1/4 wich means 4 Ohm.

AART is right. His solution is mine as well.

However, Let's look at that equation again:

It's 1 over ( 1/8 + 1/8 ) {make sure you use a + and not a x}

The "1 over" part at the beginning is what gets you to the actual answer which is 4/1 {not 1/4}

So... Here it is drawn out:

_______ = 4/1 or 4 when simplified
1/8+1/8

Anyway, I'm not trying to be a pain in the neck. The specifics of this equation are just really important. I hope you don't take this the wrong way. I just want to help.
