but i've always wondered about a MOD, to make the bass control more useful.

as it is, i never dial it over 1.5, or it gets mushy.

don't really need it with the classic V on the eq, but i've always wondered how nice it'd be, to be able to dial in the bass with barely a hint of depth added, for the full range of the control, without the mud.

kinda like, a bass pot, that barely does anything......!

possible?

Not likely. It's the same tone stack on almost all the MK Series amps. The only mod I know is to change the load on the tone stack, which may or may
not help depending on what tone your chasing.

well, that's an idea, at least.....

what about larger values for the pot itself?

what is the design pot value?

A larger pot won't do much but get more bass quicker. The stock pot is 250K.
The resistor I am referring to is a 100K that connects the treble pot to the bass pot.
You can try removing the resistor and replacing it with a buss wire or and decent wire and
see if you like the tone.

What you experience is common for almost all amps.If you play the amp lower, you will find you can turn the bass up without getting muddy.Even with Fender amps,if you turn the amp up louder you have to turn the bass control down to eliminate the "muddiness".
