I have recently picked up a Panther head and cabinet and it is, without any doubt, the nicest amp I have ever owned.

Anyone else here using a Bad Cats?

I played a "Hot Cat".

The best instant gratification amp I ever played.

I know this a Boogie Board and I would say Boogie still makes the most versatile sounding guitar tube amps but with versatility comes with "have to dial in the tone". You could go from a headroom clean to scouped out mid gut turning death metal and its still the same amp => Mark IV and Road King.

But the Hot Cat was one amp "vintage meets moderate gain" amps.

I also have a mini cat. My bud did the valve jr to Mini cat mod. The epi sounds really cool but doesnt have the clarity or character of the mini cat.

What kind of transformer did he use the stock one, hammond? How does it compare in size to the transformer in your amp.

Looked to be about the same size to me. I dont really dig that deeply into things like that. It sounds cool, dont get me wrong, but it isnt as good as a real Bad Cat.
