I'd previously maintained that if I could only have a Mark V or a JP-2C, I'd pick the V, and I still hold that belief.

But having both is better.

Today I sold my Mark V:25 head and put the money towards a new JP-2C. Still love my 90 Watt Mark V Combo but the JP-2C is a clear winner over the 25 watt head. I only use Clean and IIC+ modes on the V:25. The JP-2C does both of those better, has the same CabClone integration AND is midi controllable.

Glad to have both the V Combo and the JP-2C now.

Sweet!

I thought you already had the JP2C.

I agree that it is a BIG step up from the V:25. Which is saying a lot because the V:25 is a kickass amp.

Just curious... Is there any differences between the two JP's you've owned, or, do they sound identical?

I think they compliment each other very well whereas the Mark V and Mark 5:25 are very similar beasts. The JP-2C does stuff the Mark V doesn't - even though the V is such a versatile amp. I've owned both and miss my Mark V. I got a Mark V:35 as a loaner when my JP-2C went in for repair - and loved the thing. I'm seriously considering getting one after I pay off the guitar I just bought.
