I played this amp tonight and I kind of liked it.
I've been reading here about other amps and I was wondering how one tells a "transistory" sound from a "pure" sound?
One thing I've noticed with the tube amps that I have played is that the distortion at low volumes doesn't sound, for lack of a better term, "creamy" enough for what I'd like.
Does that change when the volume goes up? Is it absolutely necessary to crank the gain on every amp for "metal" solo and rhythm tones?
