So, about a month ago at Guitar Center I had bought a Schecter Omen-7, with plans to replace pickups. Well, I got the guitar and it felt very nice. After a few days of playing my strings would start to snap because of the incredibly sharp bridge. Then I noticed preexisting damage on the thing. I took it back to GC and they said it'd be about 3 weeks for a brand new one out of box. Trusting this, I took their word and returned 3 weeks later for some update. The order hadn't been confirmed by Schecter at all so this made me quite upset. I talked to the manager and out of nowhere, he asked if I'd like to try the C-7 Hellraiser. Despite the EMGs, which I'm not absolutely crazy about, this is definitely an all-around much nicer guitar. So, I played it and was obviously liking the thing. He offered me a price of $402.93, their factory direct price, vs. the $350 I paid for the Omen. I knew the answer before he even finished. I brought it home, restringed her, and she sounds beautiful. I was apprehensive of the EMGs at first, but the 707s round very well with lead and high gain rhythm, as well as have somewhat nice cleans. The cleans were actually much better than expected, given the reputation of the bad cleans from high output EMG pups. She's gloss black, and if I had had the choice I would have gone with the red cherry, but beggars can't be choosers. So, without further ado, here are some pictures.

Cool, I have a C7 Hellraiser myself.. **** good guitar for the money.

Been thinking about trying out the SD Blackouts.....

Yeah, I've been thinking of that myself, but I want to hear them before I just put them in. I agree on the money aspect too, a lot of guitar for my money here.

Absolutely nothing wrong with emgs. Look at the tone Between the Buried and Me gets out of them. They have a very modern sound.

Agreed. I was apprehensive when I got them but have been actually very satisfied with them now that I've test run them a lot.

That's awesome man! That guitar is beautiful. I've really been wanting to get a 7 string as of late. Unfortunately I need an amp way more than a new guitar.
