Playing live, I've worked 50 watt amps for most of my career and I can't remember a situation where 50 watts have been too few. In fact, non-master volume 50 watts was just too steekin' loud except in concert situations. Here's my question:

In 25 watt mode, can a 5:25 hold up to a blues trio in a club, allowing cleans via the blues channel and leads via the crunch channel as long as the drummer isn't an ape? Can it handle jams with drums, bass, and another guitarists, allowing clean and crunch as described above?

I used to do it in this venue, but had some issues. With those issues solved, I expect to be rocking out again. It's a blues and southern rock jam. Before the issues that eluded us for several months, everyone used to want to play the "little Mesa". I expect next week for that to be the case again after a few bumps in the road with tubes.

Here's a picture of where my Mesa Express 5:25 1x12 sits at the jam, and like I said, when the tubes are working well, she hangs with the crowd. She's mid'd too, as are all the amps here along with the two solid state 2x12s with DIs to the mix to my right when I face the audience.

That's me in the green shirt with the Express 5:25 1x12 at my knees in the picture.

So I say yes. It will do the job. Right now I'm thinking I can do 5 watt mode mic'd. But I'm going to try and contain myself.

Mark I is a board title, not my name. I'm FX. But since I posted the pic...

It's in Marion County. A little place near the lake just south of Ocala, Fox Crossing. Florida outdoors have that I have been there feeling. It's very welcoming.
