ARG! One amp (LSS),2 drastically different sounding guitars

I also posted this on the gear page, but would love advice from my boogie bros...

Sometimes I drive myself crazy. I have a Mesa Lonestar Special that I thought I had finally gotten to know. I have 2 main guitars- a 54 custom shop strat and a PRS Single Cut. Strat is bright, PRS is dark. I usually stick with one for several weeks at a time (keeps string cost down), but whenever I switch, I go crazy EQ'ing the sound so it isn't too bright or too dark.

What do you guys do? A boost pedal with EQ? I don't have a compressor, so I was thinking of killing two birds with one stone. How do you voice your amps- favoring one guitar? Easier to adjust the single coils or the guitar with buckers?

Sorry- I am an amateur, but its an issue when I gig with both. I like to use the PRS for songs with really thick leads, and use the strat on songs when I am mostly rthym.

Well...sorry, but as a gigging musician I don't have an easy fix for you. I have a few different guitars that I gig with regularly and they all require tweaking the eq section on the fly. It only takes a second and I have it memorized after doing it for so long. My RK helped a bit with this, but lets face it, a Strat and a PRS single cut are two totally different animals. You *will* have to tweak the eq.

I'm not sure about a LSS, but on a DR or a RKII, a quick tweak fo the gain & presence will usually do the trick. I set the solo boost, which I don't use for solo's often, to equalize output differences between guitars.
Just a thought...

set up the tone you like for you strat. Then grab the PRS. adjust the presence to compensate for the darkness. I have a similar problem with my strat vs. LP.
