and have good results? I am looking to get into a rack unit, and heard mixed reviews on using it mono.
any advice appreciated. I am either looking at this or just splurging for an axe-fx.
I essentially want a killer delay, chorus, mixed delay and chorus, and nice effects.
I know the axe is overkill, but I think I'd find use (over the long haul for the amp sims.
I appreciate the feedback.
(I'm posting this in both areas)
I currently using it with a Recto-Verb. The G-Major is a decent multi-effect. If you want really really good Chorus you should look into something else tho. The Chorus is ok but not good IMO, you can get a better Chorus by using the "Detune" effect I think that speaks for itself on how good the Chorus are. If you want good Delay G-Major is definitely a good choice.
I'd put it like this.
Reverb = Great.
Delay = Great (well as close to great as possible atleast).
Chorus = Not so good, I guess it's okay if you don't use it very often.
Flanger = Pretty good, not great but you can get some good sounds out of it, especially in stereo.
Pitch/Octave = Bad.
Pitch/Detune = You can get better "Analog Chorus sound" than with the Chorus.
Noise Gate = For home use it's pretty good, you get rid of all the annoying hum but when you turn up the volume really loud it isn't that good.
EQ = Really bad IMO, I haven't got any good results out of it yet.
Phaser = I don't really know, I never use Phaser but my impressions so far is that it's not as good as any of the Phaser pedals I've tried.
Tremolo = Don't know, never use it.
Compressor = Don't really know, I rarely use it, I can't say I like it, I think thats the reason I never use it.
It sounds good both in stereo and mono, some effects like Flanger sounds way better in stereo and of course the Delay types, Dual Delay and Ping Pong which is dedicated to stereo is of course better there :lol: 8)
