Anyone Try a Celestion Gold with your Mark V?

If so, what are your thoughts?

The only cab I have right now is a 1x12 loaded with a Gold. Of course this limits me to the 10w/45w settings on the amp, but I think the speaker sounds amazing..

However, I have little to no experience with other speakers with the amp (aside from v30's).

So, I'm thinking about ordering another speaker that can handle the Mark V's full power..I'm thinking maybe a Black shadow..

So what differences will be expected from swapping out the Gold for a Black shadow? Will one be more versatile? Will one handle High Gain better?

I really like the C90 with my Mark V. I run a C90 in an openback 1x12 stacked on a V30 in a closed back. If I'm just running thru one cab I use the one with the C90. If you can wait a couple of weeks I'll have an unused C90 for sale. I ordered a new cab for my LSS and I won't be using the C90.

I've played my Avatar G212 guitar wedge loaded with celestion golds with the V and I thought it sounded great. I did not do any real comparison I just plugged it in and went for it. But if you like that speaker allready you'll probably find more love with 2 in a 2x12 cab.

I am loving my Celestion G12H Anniversary (gold) speaker. Before I bought it, I checked some of the youtube comparisons and am very happy with how it turned out. I like it better than my C90, G12T-75s and vintage 30s.
