Anyone have pics of an Express 5:25 on top of a 1x12 Thiele?

I went to my local Mesa dealer yesterday and all they had was the Express 1x10 cabinet. They said they can special order the 1x12 Thiele but I did not want to commit yet until I see how it looks. I'm curious if it really does match in width when you plop the 5:25 on top of the Thiele.

Also... any reviews or sound clips/videos of the 5:25 + 1x12 Thiele?

Thanks!

The thiele will add your bottom end punch no problem. What is the width of your 5:25? I can measure my thiele to confirm they are the same width. The thiele is a great addition to any shortbody-sized combo. It really fills out the sound nicely and compliments the open back combo's tone. You can buy them used for cheaper than a new one though! Charndt has one for sale in the boogie classifieds RIGHT NOW. :)

I have the 5:25 1x10... I will break out the tape measure when I get home tonight. Thanks!

Sorry for the delay. I measured the width of the Express 5:25 1x10 to be exactly 18 7/8 inches...

Thanks!

FWIW, I've had my EVM12-Thiele cab for almost a decade now and cannot ever conceive of selling it, it is that good (well, once I considered it, and then came to my senses :) ).

I've used it with my DC5 combo for years and the thiele serves as a perfect sonic compliment to the open-backed MC90 (too bad it's a few inches narrower than the combo, but I can live with that ;) ). FWIW, I would not use the Thiele alone as it is too focused and almost too "hi-fi" in its clarity, which oddly enough, makes it the perfect compliment IMHO to the open-backed MC90 which is warm, and rich, but doesn't have the sheer low-end authority of the thiele, nor that high-end glassy crispness. Not to mention the added "size" of the tone: my thiele and open combo together are huge, rivalling a 412's sonic footprint; no exaggeration ...close your eyes and you're thinking 412 in terms of girth and moving air, seriously.

I say this which much anticipation as I just picked up a 5:25 110 and can't wait to run it with my thiele cab. That they are the same width is gravy! I am chomping at the bit as it's scheduled to arrive this week, but given that my thiele has been a successful compliment to everything else I've plugged it into (from other Boogies to older SF Fenders), I hope to expect the same added girth and authority when I couple these two together.

Hey Guys,

MB Thiele Cabs in Australia sell for $1595.00 and I'm pretty sure you get a C90 Speaker. I would love to get the EV12M Speaker one day, but not to keen on carrying the extra Weight as the Speaker itself weighs 9kg.

I have a couple of Pictures of a Boogafunk Cab which is a original Design of the EV Thiele Cab. They are made of an indestructible coating.

I have a 5:25 Express with a 10" Combo, The Thiele Cab has a Celestion Vintage 30.

I would say the BF Cab is just a tad shorter than the Combo, but have a look at the picture I posted of my gear.

I love this combo, truly a great tone, lots of bottom and the 10" takes care of all the top end sparkle.

Hey Gezza,

Cool, thanks for the feedback on the 110 express+thiele. I gotta get my act together and give that a try (just received my 110 but been swamped at work with no time to play ...argh!!!).

Sidenote: how much for a thiele cab down under??!!!!! Gulp.

Hey edward,

I paid $499.00AUD delivered, bought it from a guy on Ebay in Australia.

I love the cab and never play without it, small or large gigs.

Best investment I have bought, besides the Express 5:25.

Cheers,

Gezza.
