In the 1995 MB Catalog, on the DC model page there is a small insert and a picture of the Palomino amp, which they say not "to confuse with the Maverick", which is presented on another page. The Palomino was described as a 2x12, EL84 powered two channel amp, finished in blonde tolex, so it looked basically like a Maverick. However, the name badge on the front said Dual Caliber, making it part of the DC family; this makes sense since it was listed on the DC page, not the DR page, Mark page, Heartbreaker, Blue Angel or any other page. The little blurb suggested it had three switchable sounds, and a higher gain second channel than the Maverick, more in the DC style.

I have lived in Petaluma for nearly 20 years and played MB's exclusively for nearly 30 years. I have never seen one, heard one, or heard of anyone who had one. I can't help but wonder if it was sort of a "one off" that they tossed into the catalog to see what happened.

So, has anyone ever actually seen a Palomino, or better yet played one?

I have seen the same add a while back, and from what I could dig up is the Palomino was a prototype that never came about.
