I know we just got the Mark V and the Electradyne, but just curious if any of you "insiders" had any insight to what Mesa is planning next, or even if there is a plan to come out with something new.

Maybe, we need to understand first what the target of the Electradyne was. That is not very clear to me, yet.

On the rectifier side, Mesa has the Rectos (6L6; in the style of a Soldano SLO), the Stilettos (EL34; in the style of a Marshall) and the Roadking/Roadster (flagship/do-it-all amp).

On the boogie side, Mesa has the Expresses (EL84/6L6; successors of the Studio/DC/F-series entry point amps), the Lone Stars Classic (6L6; in the style of a Fender Tweed) and the Mark V (flagship/do-it-all amp).

Now... where do you place the Electradyne in the sonic palette?
I never heard it so I apologize for my ignorance in advance. But if it sounds in the style of an Orange, then I think that the next amp that Randall Smith will be coming out with is going to be a 4xEL84 amp in the style of a Vox... or is that already the Lone Star Special??

I hope to be forgiven for this very rough analysis but I just wanted to keep the ball rolling.
Regards

I know that a certain Boogieman has been working on some new stuff(because he didnt work on the MK V...I don't know how much HE does in terms of R and D stuff at Boogie myself..but ****, I like his initials!)do not know what exactly,sorry..!

I played on several E.D.s (Electradyne) for about an hour in a store that was an Orange dealer. Yes indeed, with out a doubt the E.D. is after the Orange market for sure.

I have a guess -

The rectos have the recto thing covered in various flavors.

The Lonestars have "regular" amps covered - not a put down - I own a LSS. They get "regular" woodsie tones that many can relate to.

The Mark V has all us Mark lovers covered for a while - though I am not selling my Mark IV. Satisfied with it - though if I was younger -- boy that V looks great.

I believe the next "upper p[rice amps will be:

A) For all us geeks, they will revisit the Blue Angel / Maverick deal. I don't see Randall reissuing them, but basic amps with few knobs will be the next phase. Maybe a true Marshall type amp and another stab at the Blue Angel / Fender formula.

Unless - I am totally wrong and he comes up with B) a Dumble type amp with similar knob placement.

I think boogie's lineup is too full to add much. I predict a Mark V revision within the next two years and possibly another variation of the Stiletto.

The Mark V revision is my guess as well. Though I think it will be atleast another year.

On the Dumble tip; isn't the Dumble topology broadly similar to the Mark 1? Solid state rectifier, cascading preamp stages, blackface tone stack, 6L6s? Probably with speakers that give up a little sooner...

I think we will definately see a Stiletto upgrade- one with reverb, and possibly 3 channels.....

I was thinking that we might see the Stilletto tight and fluid modes slightly revoiced so cut down on the treble so many complain about.

Hell no. If they really did that, I ain't gonna buy that newer revision...

see, now my thinking is to do that.. cause you own one, and they wnat new buyers.
but i would do that to channel 3 only .. so take the stiletto leave the circuit as it(by that i mean claim it isnt changing but naturally it will because there is more stuff being added), add the 3rd channel and change the voicing slightly. the either add reverb or the duo class option... ie 100/50/10 watt.

personally, i can't understand why they wouldn't want to bring the blue angel back. i think that would be a great addition to the current boogie lineup.
