Hamer makes some really awesome guitars, way better build quality than Gibson and dare I say even better than PRS in some cases. I can't understand why they aren't more popular. I had a semi hollow studio p90 model that was incredible...sorry I parted with it.

Hamer is a much smaller shop than PRS or Gibson....and they use a lot more handwork. THat means 2 things:

1. less $$$ to toss at endorsers
2. long delivery times to dealers and, in many cases, even endorsed players


Companies like Hamer, Suhr, Anderson, Tyler etc all produce better made instruments than PRS, Gibson, Ibanez or Fender. Problem is that they are all companies that arent able to compete with the clout and revenue of the giant factory makers.

A touring player can have a Les Paul smashed on the road and just walk into a shop anywhere and get a Paul that, with a few tweaks, will do the job.

Try replacing a Hamer Monaco in the middle of nowhere.

Hamer has been planning on increasing prices for a while. It'll be interesting to see how much the non-NAMM models will go for now. I got mine for a steal.
