Just picked this on a whim. Never owned a three HB guitar. Not a real G&L (Indonesia), but is really good quality and plays great. There are 14 different PU combinations.

Really clean '07 S-500. Has two Duncan SSL-1 and a Twang Banger. Clear pickguard by Greasy Groove back-sprayed gold.

I had about 7 or 8 of them almost evenly split between their versions of T style and S styles. I had two Commanches and two legacies. I think I had three ASATs and one was an ASAT Special another had a signature on it (can't remember if it was Leo or George). Ultimately I sold every last one of them because I didn't love the way they were stock and modding them is slightly more challenging. Pickguards, tuners, etc. aren't readily available at the same costs they would be for Fenders. All my Fenders are modded, so this isn't a knock on G&L per se.

I will say I scored every single one of those super cheaply and sold them for about 40% more than I paid.

Yes, I am a big G&L fan! I especially love the 80s models with the maple bodies, large MFD pickups, and relatively slender necks, such as the ASAT and SC-1 & 2. I also love the basses, especially the El Toro.

I have my late '90's G&L Thinline Special. It's a Honeyburst Maple top over Ash guitar with an Ebony Neck. I few years back I put Fralin P90's in it. I got a Pearloide pick guard cut for the P90's so the guitar would retain the original factory look (with exception to the pickups).

Didn't they have a huge radius too, like 16" or something?

Mid-90s three-bolt S500. I bought it in about 2003 and have played it lots; on my third set of frets. It was my undisputed #1 for many years.

It is stock except I have a DiMarzio FastTrack 1 in the bridge position, a bone nut, and I installed Graphtech String-Savers because the stock saddles (which I never really liked) rusted away to nothing.

This is from the period when they had the total bathtub-routing under the pickguard - it's essentially hollowed out all the way from the bridge to the neck pickup, which I truly believe contributes to its distinctive, snarly tone, and also makes it easier to get (controlled) feedback.
