Yea, I keep leaning twords the 2x12. 4x12's are a pain to move even with casters.

I came really close to buying a Roadster Combo the other day, it was used at GC for $1500, for a 2x12. Kinda glad I held off. Think I am going with the Roadster head and 2x12, seems more versatile.

word of warning... for LoneStars to sound like that they have to be getting some air moving. They sound pretty lifeless at low volume IMO. Get the tubes cooking a bit though, and it's one of Mesa's best lead tones.

+1000, that was my experience when I had my LSC....I will miss it...but had to move it t pay for my XTC

Just FYI...I was planning on doing the same, but I received an email today from Mesa saying that Andy Timmons clinics have been cancelled until further notice....(he is apparently suffering from a herniated disc).

Took a little doing, but I was able to pause on just the right frame and cop his settings close enough. They're not unlike what you might expect to see. A lot of Andy's tone is Andy!

Definitely cancelled the Cali Clinics. Best wishes for a quick recovery.

Thanks for posting the video link, and all the great comments about Andy. I've been digging his playing for years, and only found out AFTER I bought my LSC that he uses one. His tones have always been good (its in his fingers and musical DNA), but its nice to know he uses a Lonestar. I play mostly blues, roots rock and "new" country (rawk w/fiddles & pedal steel), so the LSC covers all the gain I'll ever need. However, I do enjoy the lead tones Andy gets with the LSC.

Amps aside, I was amused to see the levers Andy has added to his Memory Man delay pedals. What a smart way to tweak a pedal without reaching down to grab knobs!

I also enjoyed watching Andy move when he plays, and think its more than just show. Some players are stiff on stage, and it usually translates to their rhythm and phrasing.

Sorry to hear about his herniated disc problem, and hope he gets effective medical support for that. Hmmmm, I wonder if he owns a LSC 2x12 combo.... moving that beast could ruin anyone's back.
