I've currently got a bog-standard DD3 (MIT) but I'm on the look out for an analog delay to smooth out the sound. I know that Satriani uses an analog delay set to short going into a digital delay set to long, so would there be any distinguishable different of I bought a good analogue delay?

Which leads me to another question, which one? I've looked at the Ibanez AD-9, the MIJ DD2, Analogman's REJ project delay pedal, ect. Any recommendations? Btw I'll be using it in the effects loop of a Mark IV.

i absolutely loved the boss DM2 i had until it mysteriously crapped out.. sounded great coupled with a DD20 in my mkIV loop

My Maxon AD900 is really nice. Takes getting used to if you're used to digital delay but you won't want to go back once you do.

Most people say it's a big step up from the Ibanez but I can't say personally, never having played an AD-9.

It's a bit pricey for three knobs.
