While taking note of a setting, or deciding where to start while dialing something in, allow me to point out the following...
12:00 - Straight up
10:30 - Amp is set at a 45 degree angle counterclockwise from 12:00
09:00 - Amp is set at a 90 degree angle counterclockwise from 12:00
07:30 - Amp is set at a 135 degree angle counterclockwise from 12:00 (which is 45 degrees from 09:00)
12:00 - Straight up
01:30 - Amp is set at a 45 degree angle clockwise from 12:00
03:00 - Amp is set at a 90 degree angle clockwise from 12:00
04:30 - Amp is set at a 135 degree angle clockwise from 12:00 (which is 45 degrees from 03:00)
This is the notation for (imho) the most easily discernable positions our eye will see (45 degree angles)
