As expected, my amp business is way down since I moved back to Hawaii!

I am offering 1/2 off any mod or restoration service I do for the next month or 2.
I would like to video tape the mods and make kits (finally) from the amps that I offer the special pricing on.

If you've had your eyes on something, but couldn't afford to pull the trigger, now is the time!

The special pricing should also help offset any extra shipping costs!

Andy is a top notch tech. I highly recommend him. I bought a 1988 .50 Cal+ head about a year and a half ago. Got a great deal on it on e-bay. When I got it the clean channel was super noisy and the lead channel was just ok. ( I have a 1990 .50 Cal+ head in tip top order to compare to). I started e-mailing Andy, told him I thought it probably need new caps and probably needed a complete overhaul, he agreed. I then told him about my 1990 .50Cal+, how I had Kendrick amps install 100 watt transformers and switch the 6L6's out for 6550's. He seemed intrigued... I told him I'd like to do the same to my new head except I wanted "True" 50 watt transformers cause the wimpy trannys on the .50Cal do not put out 50 watts. Andy said let me think about this and talk to some people and I'll get back with you. So a day later he calls me and tells me he been taking to the owner of Mercury Magnetics and has just what I need. And to my surprise Andy said I only needed to replace the output transformer to achieve what I wanted. I was skeptical since I had shelled out $650.00 in 1998 to Kendrick amps... He asked me to trust him, so I shipped my amp to him. He e-mailed me during the process, and called me 3-4 days after he got my amp to tell me it was done and sounded GREAT! First of all, I was like finished? What? From the time I shipped my amp to Andy I had it back within two weeks. He also added a 4,8,16 ohm selector switch, cause I had mentioned I thought it was lame that there were two 8 ohm speaker jacks and one 16 ohm jack and no 4 ohm jack. I can tell you the amp sounds better than my 1990 .50 Cal+, the lead channel is a little livelier, the clean channel is cleaner, and though not as loud as my Kendrick modded amp, it's now a true 50 watts and is loud enough to keep up with the other guitarist in my band's MKIII. Also, I paid under $350.00 including the new Mecury Transformer, new caps, new LDR's etc. So send your amps to Andy with confidence.

Sale still going on!
I have 3 Mark III's coming in, so can't really use anymore of those.

Any Nomad, Rectoverb, Heartbreaker, DC, Maverick, Caliber, etc. Would be great though!!!!!!

I HIGHLY recommend Andy to any professional player be it live work or studio work to modify your precious Mesa amp. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about his ability to absolutely NAIL what you are looking for in your Mesa to a T. If the PC board can be modded to do what you want, he can do it. If it can't he will not hesitate to tell you up front and risk loosing the cash to say "It can't be done on this amp" I totally respect Andy on a profesional and personal level. He is a rare, genuine man of character from the moment you get on the phone with him, to him taking extra time to bubble wrap every tube and over pack everything, to him tracking the shipment and calling you in the middle of the day or late at night making sure you got the amp with out damage.

He is a down to earth guy that has a (pardon me) "take no bull-****" approach to doing business. Let's be honest, there are other guys in major cities modding amps that have nice shops and high profile names,...but Andy doesn't play the "make the sale" game. He want's to get you what you need more then he wants to make a nice chunk of money off you for a generic mod that my dad could do with a solder gun.

I personally attribute a HUGE part of a major record I recorded recently to Andy modding a Mesa Boogie V1 Bottle Rockett for me. The studio dates where out of state and I was flown in with just my guitar and some pedals for the sessions. I knew the studio would only provide me an old Dual Rectifier for the recording and I needed to get some very "pop-ish" Santana like tones from the rig for the recording. The Dual Recs simply don't do that sound, so I had Andy mod a Bottle Rockett for my lead tone to run into the Dual Rec for the studio dates. His mod absolutely nailed the sound I wanted taking into account the amp I was running it into and my current rig. I was so impressed, I bought Andy's personal amp from him...a Mesa Maverick and had him further mod it to meet the needs of another project. Every single musician that hears this amp, and this pedal asks me "what is that rig" and it's all due to Andy obsession with tone, feel, expression, dynamic, and playable musicality. He is a fantastic craftsman, and un-like other techs actually plays guitar in a gigging band. So when you talk with him...he simply knows where you are coming from.

If you need a Mesa mod, and it's possible to do in that Mesa model amp, Andy by far and away is your guy. I have never given any of the "other guys" my money simply because they can't and won't do what Andy does.

Most of all, he is now, after knowing him as long as I have, my friend. I trust him with the tools that put food on my family's table. Give the guy your business...you won't regret it.
