As some of you may have noticed, I am very happy with my "new old" MarkIV head (thanks again to DaveP), but now I need to pair it with good cabs, and my Peavey 212XXL is not
At high volume (band rehearsals and gigs) I play original stuff and covers for the most in the metal territory, and I know (because I tried by myself) that MarkIV+EVM12L are hard to beat.
The best thing would be to have a 4x12, but they're expensive (can't find the old grilled Halfback under 900€, with 2 EVM12L and 2 c90 which seem to mix well together) and extremely heavy. The grilled 2x12 Halfback are even harder to find and not so cheaper (from 500€ to 700€ with V30 or EVM12L), ignoring the weight and dimensions.
So I came up with the idea of buying a Thiele and a 1x12. I have the possibility to buy a 1x12 Mesa open back with an original EVM12L for 250€ and a Mesa Thiele with c90 at 350€ (or 2 Thiele for 700€), then I could swap the speakers and leave one cab always in the rehearsal room and going back and forth from my place with the head and the other cab.
What do you think? :)

if you wanted to go nuts (i know money may be an issue here) you can get 2 2x12 Avatar cabs empty and do one c-90 and evm in each MASSIVE SOUND THAT WOULD BE!!

Hi,

Glad you like the amp. I would go for the open back and the thiele. Swap the speakers as you mentioned.
That's a great combination for the IV. A C90 open back on top and the thiele with the EVM on the bottom.
I play through a combo and a thiele and it sounds great together. I use 2 EVM 12L's though but the C90 will work in the
open back just fine.

You can't see the smile on my face every time I found a new tone I like from the amp, about every 10-15 minutes since I got the amp, this with the Peavey cab!

@Spewnz: here in Italy Avatar cabs are quite impossible to find :(
