I just ordered a Mesa 1x12 3/4 back cab to use with my 2 chan dual rectifier. based on things i have herd here and trying different cabs in the store. The thing is at the store they claim I will definitely blow the speaker. because a 100wattt amp is too much for a 90 watt speaker. But i ordered it anyway. Am I going to be sorry? Just wondering how many people have had good experiences with this setup? thanx.

you'll probably be fine as long as you don't run the amp full out. Alternatively, find yourself an EVM-12L and put that in the cab. The EVM and that cab is a good combination.

Considering Mesa shipped the Mark I (100w) with a C90 and the Mark IV (85w) with a C90, I think you'll be ok.

good point! I'm going to bring that up when i pick the cab up on Monday.
If this does work out the next thing will be to find another cab to go along with the 1x12 to give me a 4x12 type sound. most likely a 2x12 recto.

I am running a that same 112 mesa cab right now with my DR and it sounds fine until I turn it up. At band practice I run the 112 and another 112 in a Line 6 combo. I soldered a Mesa speaker cable to the 12 in my Line 6 combo and hooked it in the 4 ohm jack of the DR. So when I play I run 2 112 cabs with my DR. If you do this make sure you put both cabs on 4 ohm. That's what Mesa suggests.

The only reason I am doing this is cause I am waiting for my Emperor 412 cab to be built and shipped.

Now, don't mistake me - you CAN blow the hell out of that speaker with a Dual Rec, but you will have to have the amp probably halfway up or more, which is magnificently loud.
