This is my ch3 tone ive been using for the last year nearly on my Mark V head now thru both a marshall and a mesa quad after messing around the with the eq sliders one day I came across this setting and have been using it ever since, really cuts thru in a band situation. Kinda sounds similar to Adam Jones (tool) tone...

Definitely give it try if you have passive pick ups. I use Seymour duncans jb's...

Note: Channel 3 is set to "extreme" mode with "pentode" tube setting. The EQ slider switch on and the Bright switch on...

do you use a noise gate of some sort? cause with these settings I'd get an incredible amount of squeal..

You might actually be able to let your amp 'breathe' a bit if you bring that 750hz on the GEQ up a bit. When you squash it like that ( especially with the 80z and 2200hz maxxed out), your not really letting your amp get some air. I find that alot of folks who are using this set-up are making up for what their cabs/speakers aren't doing. To each their own, but just a bit of 2¢ advice.

Ive tried putting the 750Hz up a bit, but no further than just above the bottom line, I find the sound gets to boxey... especially since I have the Mid dial set close to 3pm which is more than enough. Boosting the 2200hz slider really makes this amp cut thru. You can look at the settings and think it wont work but trust me give it try. I also run my mark V thru a 4x12 mesa recto cab and a marshall 1960 vintage cab with v30's. But even just running the mark v thru the marshall cab this setting sounds great in a band situation.
