ada or tubes

my mk iv needs to be retubed. should i do that or just buy some cheap ada mp1 or mp2 to go along with my mesa needing tubes (not really bad but getting the tone is getting tired)?

you're still foregoing the inevitable expense of buying tubes...Even if you get an ADA, it's only a preamp, which you will need to plug into the power amp of your mark4. So regardless, you need tubes.

What kind of troubles are you having with your Mark4? There's lots of people here that can help you out.

its just beggining to sound stale to me. i can live without new tubes but im ready for a fresh sound so i figured either tubes (both preamp and power amp) or a new preamp.

If you’re looking for a fresh sound and your IV needs tubes anyway, why not try different tubes? Especially the IV it’s capable of so many different configurations. And then of course then there different brands.
