Thank you guys for your time!

Grasshopper: for the C+ info you seek read this: http://www.grailtone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=18184

For price info.... read the info in the above link again then decide if its worth it to buy the MkII you are considering.

Is it a head, or combo? With a low serial like that, I think it's worth getting; I found my IIA 1x15 for $800. But, I gotta say, IIA's have a mojo and tone that was lost with the IIB, and changed again with the C and C+.

Yes, Mesa will still do the mod, but I say try it as is before spending the cash on making it a C+; you just might dig what it does. Like all Boogies, you gotta twist and pull a few knobs to achieve sonic nirvana; but you may be pleasantly surprised at what it can do. Now, the early II's did have a couple of issues with noisy reverbs, and channel switching, they will gladly take care of those issues, with or without changing the sonic tonality.

I also think you should look at it from a collector's standpoint; originals are always more valuable than modified. While this would be the cheaper route to C+ tones (as opposed to buying an original), if you decided to re-sell, how much of your investment are you going to get back?

Good luck, and happy tone hunting!

Mesa can not at this point make a Mark llA or B a C+, you need a C to start with, the circuit board is the key.
