this happened last march, i was actually on the chairlift going up 5 minutes after this let go.
the debris field was most impressive.
this is on Baldy shoulder. i regularly ski this side of the mountain....
after a smaller avalanche had occurred, the side of the mountain was roped off, and avy control was done, this is the vid of it.....
this was a huge amount of terrain involved, and ran much further than the avy patrollers thought it would.
it covered two active groomed runs.
